Hi everyone,

just a quick update on my latest advances.

  • My fundraising campaign to replace some of the studio equipment I lost when my house was burglared last year is up and running and has so far raised 134 dollars, woohoo! A huge thank you to those who have donated to or shared the campaign!!
  • My record label Sylvan Sound – A Musical Family of Ecosocial Artivists – has launched with two albums from two artists. Check out my new page here on this site, or go straight to sylvansound.net. In terms of web design, I’m quite proud to have set up my first fully functional web shop (though, to be fair, with today’s tools it’s hardly brain surgery…)
  • My album Norge På Langs (“Norway Lengthwise”) of traditional Norwegian music in world fusion clothing + a few originals has finally been released on sylvansound.net, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, you name it… Check out the free single Hei Fara here on martinvoll.com.
  • To launch the two Sylvan Sound albums, Ananse Y La Luna, Barba Mutante and myself, along with visual artist Iwazarus, joined forces as “Colectivo Salvajes” and went on an album-release-mini-tour of San Jose Del Pacifico, San Mateo Rio Hondo and Oaxaca City. The first night in San Jose we played in the upper floor of a wooden house and we had to repeatedly ask the audience to calm down as the whole building was swaying dangerously… In Oaxaca, at La Jicara, we enjoyed another full house and great vibes, and we were chuffed to receive invitations to play at festivals. We’re not quite sure what happens next, but we will for sure continue to explore our “electro-folk-metal-activism”, or something along those lines…
  • The rainy season is just about over and we’re going to spend more time on our new land, creating an overall design, doing fundamental earth works including a road, installing electricity, building a water tank, building a test cabin to experiment with different building techniques… Exciting times ahead!

Upwards and onwards,

Martin
